About the Event
Search KC aims to build and lead a powerful alliance with the local community, businesses, law enforcement, service providers, and media to educate and raise awareness of the issue of missing persons, resulting in locating missing persons and connecting them with restorative services.
According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 1 in 6 reported endangered runaways is likely a victim of human trafficking.
During Search KC, volunteers canvas the community and distribute the public posters of missing persons and gather leads on their whereabouts, with support from our Command Center and team of experienced individuals. Volunteers will work in small groups for a four hour shift. All volunteers must sign a waiver and be at least 18 years old.
Covid-19 safety practices will be in place, and we are prepared to shift to a virtual search if necessary. Sharing posters and resources online will be available for Search KC 2021 in any circumstance. Sign up to volunteer now!
Thank you to our partners, volunteers, and the Kansas City community for your support. Together we can protect those who are vulnerable from exploitation and bring them home safely.
